Fayette Burdick COON, 87, a retired educator living in Milton, died at 2:30 a.m.
Wednesday at the Rock County Hospital where he had been a patient since February.
The son of Edward and Annis BURDICK COON, he was born Jan. 3, 1876, at
Albion, Wis. He attended Albion Academy and the Milton Junction High School and graduated from Milton College. On Oct. 14, 1901, he was married to Berta HULL. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1961.
High school teaching and administration was Fay COON's profession for 40 years in
Wisconsin, the last 18 years of which were spent in West Allis high school. During his teaching career he served as a leader of youth in 4-H, Scouting and the Church. At one time he was chairman of the Milwaukee City Beautification Commission and was vice president of the Milwaukee Horticultural Society. Following his retirement in 1941, he served the Rock County school system for eight years as supervisor of the visual education library and field service. He was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Surviving him are his wife; a daughter, Genevieve JENSEN, West Allis, and a
daughter, Margaret, at home; a son, Garrelt, Burbank, Calif.; five granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary COON WOODSTOCK, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 2 'clock in the Milton Seventh Day
Baptist Church, the Rev. Elmo Fitz Randolph officiating. Interment will be in the Milton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Albrecht Funeral Home Thursday evening (tonight) from 7 to 9 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family will welcome memorial contributions for Camp Wakonda. [Thursday edition, p. 7]

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred CRANDALL, 82, Milton, who died unexpectedly
Thursday, June 13, in her home were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Rev. Elmo F. Randolph officiating. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stuart and Harley SHADEL, Allen SERNS, Byron ROOD,
Leland SHAW and Wesley LOOFBORO.
The former Corabell CRANDALL was born at Dodge Center, Minn. She attended
Milton College and was married to Fred CRANDALL May 14, 1907 at Dodge Center. They spent most of their married life in the Milton area.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Paul (Cleone) VAN HORN, Milton,
Mrs. Victor (Gwendolyn) LOOFBORO, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Edmar (Wanda) HANSEN, Milton Junction, and nine grandchildren.
Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. Winnie SAUNDERS of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs.
Nettie CRANDALL of Riverside, Calif.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Willette and Rhoda CRANDALL; one
sister, Mrs. Bess BORDON and one brother Rex CRANDALL. [Thursday edition, p. 1]
