Floyd C[hristopher] VINCENT, 85, who resided with his son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Paul G. KAASE, Milton, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning at Albion, Mich. He was admitted to the hospital in Albion Sunday evening after becoming ill while en-route with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. BAKER, for a visit in their home at Lansing, Mich.
Funeral services will be held at the Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist Church
Friday, June 4, at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Addison Appel officiating. Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery. Friends may call at the Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton Junction, Thursday (tonight), June 3, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. VINCENT, the eldest son of Joseph G. and Artilda GARLOCK VINCENT,
was born July 28, 1879 in the Rock River district north of Milton Junction. He was married to Mignon WHITFORD Nov. 29, 1905, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Algernon WHITFORD. They farmed in this area until he retired and moved to Milton in 1948. He continued with his specialty of growing melons until 1960. Mr. and Mrs. VINCENT celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1955. Mrs. VINCENT died June 17, 1960.
He served as clerk of the Rock River district school board for 27 years. He was also
a 25 year member of the Milton Grange, and a member of the Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Beulah) KAASE of Milton, and Mrs. Harold
(Doris) BAKER of Lansing, Mich.; three grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Charley of Minneapolis, Minn., and Lawrence and Ezra of Chippewa Falls.
Preceding him in death besides his wife, also were an infant son, two sisters and one

Funeral services for Mrs. John CRAIG, 80, Lima Center, were held at 2 p.m.
Monday, June 14, in the Albrecht Funeral Home, the Rev. Alvin Briggs, pastor of the Milton Junction Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Milton Cemetery with grandsons Richard and Terry SPLITTER, Steven CRAIG, Robert RICHARDSON, George WILKINS and Douglas CASHORE acting as pallbearers.
Mrs. CRAIG, a lifelong Rock County resident, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, June 11, at
Rock Haven, Janesville, following a long illness.
The former Gertrude Mae CLARK [CLARKE] was Born in Magnolia Township
May 19, 1885, the daughter of Nelson and Rose HERITAGE CLARK [CLARKE]. She attended Otter Creek schools and was graduated from the Old Milton High School. She was married to John CRAIG Feb. 5, 1908 by Rev. Andrew Porter, Milton Junction. The couple farmed in Lima Township until retiring and moving to Lima Center in 1941.
Mrs. CRAIG attended Otter Creek Church as a child and in later years attended
North Lima Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Lima Benefit Club, Lima Circle and Garden Club, and the Milton Historical Society.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Loren, at home, Leroy of Rural Whitewater,
and Everard of Lima Center; three daughters, Mrs. Bernice SPLITTER of Whitewater, Mrs. Harold RICHARD [RICHARDSON] of Rural Milton, and Mrs. Clarence MORRISSEY of Milton Junction; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Richard KRUEGER, Milton Junction. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Viola Mae, five sisters, and one brother. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
