- Mrs. Leman H. (Ruth) STRINGER,
82, of Phoenix, Arizona, died Thursday, Oct.
- 12 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix,
following a three-day illness.
- Funeral services were held Wednesday,
Oct. 18 from the Milton seventh Day Baptist
- Church, with Rev. Earl Cruzan officiating.
Burial was in Milton cemetery with Paul GREEN, Ralph
GREEN, Herbert CROUCH, Forrest BRANCH, Walter
KUGLER and Bernhardt WESTLUND as pallbearers.
- The former Ruth ZINN was born
Oct. 15, 1889 in Farina, Ill. and attended Milton
- College. She was married in June,
1911 to Leman H. STRINGER, who was head of the music department
at Milton College from 1912 to 1949. He died April 13, 1964.
- While in Milton Mrs. STRINGER
was active in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist
- Church and it's Woman's Circle and
was a member and past president of the Milton Woman's Club.
She moved to Arizona in 1965.
- Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Boyden
(Mary) CROUCH of Phoenix; one grandson,
- Robert CROUCH, a student at
Milton College; a sister, Miss Flora ZINN, Milton; a nephew,
General Robert M. STILLMAN, San Antonio, Texas; and a
niece, Mrs. Lenore McKELVY, Denver, Colorado. She was
predeceased by a son, William, at age 11, and a sister, Miss
