- Mrs. Truman LIPPINCOTT, 77,
of 203 Dunn St., died Wed., Aug. 15 at Rock
- Haven where she had been a patient
since Aug. 1. Services were held at 3 p.m. Sat. Aug. 18 in the
Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Revs. Earl Cruzan and
Elmo FitzRandolph officiating.
- Pallbearers were cousins Kenneth OCHS,
Theron OCHS, Carroll LOOFBORO,
- Wayne LIPPINCOTT, Walden LIPPINCOTT
and Lawrence LIPPINCOTT with burial in Milton Cemetery.
- The former Gladys [Ione] PELTON
was born in Janesville Aug. 1, 1896. She was
- graduated from Janesville High School
in 1915 and Milton College in 1919. Her marriage to Mr. LIPPINCOTT
took place Feb. 14, 1921. The couple celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary in 1971.
- Mrs. LIPPINCOTT was an active
member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist
- Church, as a teacher and superintendent
of the Sabbath School primary department for 29 years and in
the women's groups. She was a past president of the Milton WVI
Club and chairman of the children's welfare clinic which operated
for many years in Milton.
- Survivors include her husband and a
daughter, Mrs. Ronald (DeEtta) KASTORFF
- of Whitewater. [Thursday edition,

- Robert A[ddison] GRAY, 74, of
206 N. Seyoe Rd., Madison, died Sunday, Aug 19,
- in Methodist Hospital, Madison, where
he had been a patient since an automobile accident on June 21.
- He was born Oct. 17, 1898 to Dexter
and Myrtie BANKS GRAY on a century old
- family farm on Emerald Grove Road which
is now operated by his son. He is a direct descendent of one
of the Milton area families who migrated to this area from New
York in 1845.
- He attended the Old Stone elementary
school in North Johnstown and was graduated
- from Milton High School in 1916.
- Mr. GRAY was a long-time employee
of the former State Conservation Dept. He
- joined the department in 1923 and served
as a game warden in the Milton area for about ten years. He
was then made superintendent of the commercial fishing department
until 1943 when he was named assistant director of the State
Conservation Dept. In 1944 he resigned and founded the Robert
A. GRAY Co., Inc. which he operated until two years ago.
- As a youth he raised and showed Shorthorn
cattle. During his early years he was an
- avid sports enthusiast and pitched
for a local baseball team in Milton and was asked to play semi-pro
baseball.
- He was a 50-year Mason of Milton Masonic
Lodge No. 161, F. & A.M., Friendship
- Chapter No. 46, O. E. S., Madison Consistory
and Tripoli Shrine, Milwaukee.
- Survivors include his wife, the former
Dorothe BARBER of Madison; a son, Ross R.
- GRAY,
Milton; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Joan) AUSTIN, R2 Janesville;
five grandchildren, Steven AUSTIN, Lombard, Ill., Mrs.
Larry BARBERA, Greenfield, Sue, Mary Jo and Rob GRAY,
all of Milton; two sisters, Dorris E. GRAY and Mrs. Lawrence
(Leila) ALLSHOUSE, both of Beloit.
- Funeral services were held at 1:30
p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Joyce Funeral
- Home, Madison, with burial in the North
Johnstown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's.
