Justin H[ugh] BURDICK, 85, former Milton resident, died Sunday, May 11, at
Rock Haven, Janesville, where he had been a patient for many years.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13 in Milton Cemetery with
Rev. Earl Cruzan, Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church officiating.
Mr. BURDICK was born April 23, 1890, at Utica and came to Milton with his
parents, Dr. J. H. BURDICK and Fannie COON BURDICK. His father, a Milton physician for many years, founded Milton Electric Co. in 1909 which he sold to Wisconsin Power & Light Co. in 1935. He also did medical research and held patents for several preparations including Tolo, an early antiseptic solution.
Justin BURDICK had farmed in the Milton area before his illness.
Surviving are a brother, Dr. Clifford BURDICK, Tucson, Ariz.; three half brothers,
Roger and Robert, Milton, and William, Wauwatosa; and a half sister, Phyllis BURDICK, Rock County Health Care Center.

Mrs. O. Rex BOWERS, 72, of 620 E. High Street, died Wednesday, May 21 at
the Homestead Nursing Home, Janesville, following a short illness. She had entered the nursing home in April.
The former Buena [Geraldine] DAVIS was born Feb. 9, 1903, in Welton, Iowa, the
daughter of Oscar and Rachel VAN HORN DAVIS, and had lived most of her life in the Milton area. She married Rex BOWERS July 31, 1921, in Duncan Creek, Wis.
Mrs. BOWERS was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church and Women's
Circle.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Norman, Bremerton, Wash., Earl, San
Jose, Calif., and Donald, Waukesha; five daughters, Mrs. Virginia KEISTER, Trout Creek, Mont., Mrs. Zada HARRINGTON, Clinton, Iowa, Mrs. Wanda MANTHEI, Janesville, Mrs. Mary THOMAS, Redding, Calif., and Mrs. Wilma ANDERSON, Edgerton; four brothers, Rev. Arlie DAVIS, Phoenix, Arizona, Wilmer, Lake Port, Calif., Duane, Aurora, Colo., and Wesley, Milan, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at Albrecht Funeral Home,
the Rev. Earl Cruzan officiating. Burial was in Milton Cemetery with Roger BURDICK, Ralph GREEN, Paul GREEN, Larry LEACH, Louis SUNBY and Charles WILLIAMS as pallbearers. [Thursday edition, p. 3]
