- Mrs. Milton DAVIS, Sr., 77,
of 384 E. Madison, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital,
- Janesville.
- The former Jesse [Jessie Violet] POST
was born on July 18, 1900, in Chicago. Her
- parents were Dr. George W. and Mary
GOODRICH POST. Mrs. DAVIS graduated from Milton
College in 1923 and from the Battle Creek, Mich., School of Nursing
in 1926. She was a registered nurse in Chicago where her husband,
the late Dr. Milton D. DAVIS, attended medical school.
Dr. and Mrs. DAVIS moved to Milton in 1931 when Dr.
DAVIS opened his practice. Dr. DAVIS died in
1967.
- Mrs. DAVIS was a member of the
Seventh Day Baptist Church of Milton, the Milton
- Historical Society, and the Milton
Women's Club. She and her husband were both active in the Milton
College Alumni Association.
- Mrs. DAVIS is survived by a
son, Milton D., Monroe; two grandsons, Christopher
- and Marcus; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret
BLISS, Milton.
- A memorial service was read on Wednesday
afternoon, Aug. 17, at the Milton
- Seventh Day Baptist Church where a
memorial fund has been established. [Thursday edition, p.
