- J[ohn] Harold BAUER, 73, of
2605 Hawthorne, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at Mercy
- Hospital following a brief illness.
- A life-long resident of Rock County,
he was born April 6, 1904, in Milton, the son of
- J. Philip and Inez KILLAM BAUER.
He married Ardis RICE Aug. 15, 1932 in Milton.
- He was a builder in the area for 50
years. Following semi-retirement in 1965 he
- moved to Janesville from Milton.
- Surviving are his wife; three sons,
Wayne, Janesville, Warren, Madison, and Wayland,
- Bettendorf, Iowa; a sister, Esther
CLARK, Milton, and six grandchildren.
- Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday
at Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, with burial in
- Milton Cemetery. Rev. James Mohr,
First Congregational Church, officiating.
- A memorial will be established. [Thursday

- Oscar Rex BOWERS, 78, of 620
E. High St., longtime Milton resident, died
- Tuesday, Jan. 24, at Janesville Health
Care Center, where he had been a patient for one month.
- He was born Nov. 11, 1899 in Ladysmith,
the son of Oscar and Mary CAUKINS
- BOWERS,
and married the former Buena DAVIS July 31, 1921, in Duncan
Creek. She died May 21, 1975.
- Residing in the Milton area for 52
years, Mr. BOWERS was employed by Burdick
- Corporation until his retirement in
1958.
- Survivors include five daughters, Virginia
KEISTER, Trout Creek, Mont., Zada
- HARRINGTON,
Clinton, Ia., Wanda MANTHEI, Janesville, Mary THOMAS,
Gilchrist, Oregon, and Wilma ANDERSON, Edgerton; three
sons, Norman, Bremerton, Wash., Earl, San Jose, Calif., and Donald,
Artesia, New Mexico, and one brother, Richard BOWERS,
Phoenix, Ariz.
- Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday,
Jan. 27, at the Seventh Day Baptist Church,
- Milton, with Rev. Earl Cruzan officiating.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday,
at Albrecht Funeral Home. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
