Donald [F.] BARKER, 69, of 28 S. John Paul Rd., died unexpectedly Wednesday,
July 5, at Memorial Community Hospital, Edgerton, after an apparent heart attack. He had been admitted Monday.
He was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Johnstown Township, Rock County, the son of Frank
E. and Nellie NEWELL BARKER. He married the former Florence FREEBORN March 20, 1937.
Mr. BARKER had been employed in the maintenance department of Burdick Corp.,
Milton, until retiring in 1973.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Spencer (Sandra)
LUKAS, Milton; two grandchildren; three brothers, Eldon, Laveen, Ariz., Rolland of Rockford, and Carroll of Lake Mills; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy MEALEY, Prescott, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Albrecht Funeral Home with burial in
Milton Junction Cemetery. Rev. Virgil Holmes of Faith United Methodist Church, Milton, officiated.
Pallbearers were Donald CHESMORE, James WILCOX, Hartley SUMMERS,
Orville OLSON, Clarence VIERCK and Richard PALMER. A memorial fund has been established. [Thursday edition, p. 8]
