Truman G. LIPPINCOTT, 78, Milton resident since 1916, died Tuesday, Aug. 1,
at Meyers Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc, after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 5, 1899, in Garwin, Iowa, the son of Alva and Jesse HERBERT
LIPPINCOTT. He moved to Milton in 1916 with his family, attended Milton College, and was married to Gladys PELTON in Janesville Feb. 14, 1921. She died in 1973. He then moved to Whitewater in 1976.
Mr. LIPPINCOTT was employed as director of purchasing at Janesville Auto
Transport Co. for many years, retiring in 1965. He was a member of Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, serving as treasurer for many years and as president in 1968-69.
He had been a member of Milton IOOF Lodge since 1923, and currently a member
of Janesville IOOF Lodge 90 and Rebekah Lodge 171, Canton Blackhawk No. 6 and Encampment No. 3.
He was a former Milton lodge officer, district president, grand lodge officer, grand
master of Wisconsin IOOF in 1956, and a member of the National committee for erection of the front entrance to the IOOF International Peace Garden on the North Dakota-Canada border.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ronald KASTORFF, Whitewater; and a nephew,
Wayne LIPPINCOTT, Milton.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, at Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton, with
burial in Milton Cemetery.
