- Funeral services were held Monday for
Mrs. Charles COURTNEY, 80, of 383 Elm
- St., who died Thursday, Sept. 4, following
a long illness.
- The former [Relda] Louise BURDICK
was born Sept. 1899, in Leonardsville, N.Y.,
- the daughter of Lucius and Alice CLARK
BURDICK. She moved to the Milton area in 1911 and married
Charles COURTNEY Oct. 1, 1919. The couple farmed in
Rural Milton until 1952. She was a devoted member of the Seventh
Day Adventist Church, Milton.
- Survivors include her husband; one
son, Frederick, of Beloit; one daughter, Mrs.
- Frances TREWYN, Rt. 1, Whitewater;
eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
- Services were held at the Seventh Day
Adventist Church Monday, with Rev. Hal
- Thomson officiating. Burial was in
Milton Cemetery with Ed GROSS, Ken SCHULTZ, Harold
STUBBE, Elmer ANDERSON, Alvin NELSON and
E. Dean YOUNG as pallbearers. [Thursday edition,

- Mrs. Bernice GRAY, 61, of Montello, died Monday in
Edgerton Hospital following
- a short illness.
- She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Beloit, the former Bernice
HAMM, and was married
- to Marion GRAY April 2, 1938 in Dubuque, Iowa. They
resided in the Milton and Edgerton areas until moving to Montello
four years ago.
- She was employed by Nunn-Bush Shoe Factory for 23 years.
- Survivors include her husband; one son, Dale of Edgerton;
five grandchildren and two
- great-grandchildren.
- Service will be held today, Thursday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m.
at Faith United Methodist
- Church, Milton. Visitation was held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday
at Albrecht Funeral Home.
- Burial was in Milton Lawns Cemetery with Jeffrey GRAY,
Wesley GRAY, Timothy
- GRAY, David HESSELMAN, Emil WILLE and
Richard GRAY as pallbearers. [Thursday edition, p.
