- Dorothy [May] MAXSON SHAW, 80,
formerly of 217 Plumb St., died Tuesday at
- Cedar Crest, Janesville, following
a long illness.
- The former Dorothy MAXSON was
born May 22, 1901 in Fayette County, Ill., the
- daughter of Clifford and Myrtle CROSBY
MAXSON. She married Elston SHAW, Aug. 1, 1959.
He died April, 1977.
- She taught English for approximately
40 years, teaching in La Paz, Bolivia for four
- years, an Ohio girls school for a few
years and for several years at Milton High school.
- She was a member of the Seventh Day
Baptist Church, Milton, former member of the
- Milton Woman's Club and Milton Historical
Society.
- Survivors include one son, Edwin of
Milton; two brothers, Russell MAXSON,
- Tombstone, Ariz., and Clark MAXSON,
Battle Creek, Mich.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
- Funeral services will be held today,
Thursday, at 3 p.m. at the Seventh Day Baptist
- Church with Rev. Herbert Saunders officiating.
Burial will be in Milton Cemetery.
