Mrs. Margaret [Lucile] WICKHAM, 80, Zapata, Tex., a former Milton resident,
died Monday, Sept. 19, at home.
The former Margaret BABCOCK was born Feb. 6, 1903, in Milton. She graduated
from Milton College in 1925 and then from the School of Library Science, UW-Madison. She also did graduate work at Columbia University, New York.
She was a librarian in the Madison Public Schools for a number of years.
She married Paul BLACKBOURN, who died in 1964, and later married Harold
WICKHAM.
She is survived by her present husband, Harold WICKHAM, of Zapata, Tex.; and a
brother, Kenneth BABCOCK of Milton; several nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements are pending. [Thursday edition, p. 20]

Dr. Allison L[ovelle] BURDICK, 89, of 1637 North Mobile Ave., Chicago, Ill.,
died Monday, Sept. 19, in West Suburban Hospital, Chicago, where he had been a member of the staff for 57 years.
Dr. BURDICK was born in Coloma, Wis., on Sept. 14, 1894, the son of Dr. and
Mrs. A. Lovelle BURDICK. After graduating from Milton College in 1916, he taught science and coached athletics at Salem College, Salem, West Virginia, for two years and then attended the University of Wisconsin and Rush Medical College of Chicago where he graduated in 1922.
After an internship at Augustana Hospital, he entered into general practice in Chicago
serving on the staffs of St. Ann's Hospital and West Suburban Hospital. He was an active member of the Chicago Medical Society serving as its president and holding other important positions in the society. He also was a member of the Illinois Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, and the Academy of General Practice.
Dr. BURDICK was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church of Milton. He
served for many years as a trustee of Milton College being a loyal attendant at meetings of the board and commencement exercises.
On Aug. 27, 1917, he married Adelaide June BARTHOLF who preceded him in
death in 1969. A daughter, Mary June, also preceded him in death at the age of five years.
Survivors include a son, Allison Lovelle, Jr., who is now the head of the Department
of General Practice at West Suburban Hospital; daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Brief memorial services were held at a Chicago funeral home on Wednesday Sept.
21, and additional services were held in the Seventh Day Baptist church in Milton Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Milton cemetery. Local arrangements were made by Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton. [Thursday edition, p. 20]
