Elsie Lea ROOD, 88, died on Sunday, July 14, at the Janesville Health Care Center, in Janesville. Born July 3, 1897 in North Loup, Neb., she was the daughter of Charles J. and Rosa FURROW ROOD. She came to Milton in the late 1930's and spent most of her life here as a companion to elderly people in need of assistance. ROOD was a member of the North Loup Seventh Day Baptist Church and a member of the Women's Circle of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Esther NELSON, Cedar Crest Convalescent Center, Janesville and Eunice HARMAN, Beaver City, Neb. Services were held at the Albrecht Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16 with services and burial in North Loup, Neb., on Wednesday, July 17. [Thursday edition, p. 24]   Courtesy of Jon Saunders
