- Clifford G[oodson] WILCOX, 82,
died Friday, July 29, at Caravilla where he had
- been a resident for the past two and
a half years.
- Mr. WILCOX was born Feb. 23,
1906 in Johnstown Township, the son of Edward
- A. and Mattie CRANDALL WILCOX.
He married Echo VAN HORN Dec. 25, 1930 in Garwin, Iowa.
She died March 8, 1978. He attended Milton College, Illinois
State Normal University and received his masters degree in administration
from the University of Illinois-Champaign. Many years were
spent in teaching and administration in various schools in Illinois.
For 15 years he was superintendent of Community High School
in Savanna, Ill. While there he was active in the Methodist
Church and Rotary Club. He was a member of the Cargill United
Methodist Church in Janesville.
- Mr. Wilcox is survived by one son,
Kenneth (Dorothy) WILCOX of Austin, Tex.;
- two daughters, Marjory (Marvin) IMES
of Alta Loma, Calif., and Virginia (Wayne) ENGBRECHT of
Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Sylvester (Gladys) WILCOX
of Janesville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
- Funeral services were held Wednesday,
Aug. 3 at the Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton.
- Following cremation, burial was in
the Milton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of
the donors choice. [Thursday edition, p. 24]
