- Charles H. WILLIAMS, 82, of
428 Green Hill Drive, passed away Friday, June 28,
- 1991, after a long illness. He was
born January 18, 1909 at Albion, Wisconsin, the son of E. Glenn
and Matie (HEAD) WILLIAMS.
- He married Gertrude DAVIS of
Milton on Nov. 23, 1944.
- He was baptized in June 1923 and joined
the Albion Seventh Day Baptist Church,
- where he later became a deacon. He
remained a member there until moving to Milton in 1963 where
he became a member and deacon in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist
Church.
- He graduated from Edgerton High school
and attended the University of Wisconsin
- Agricultural Short Course. He was engaged
in the 100 year-old WILLIAMS' family farming business,
raising purebred Jersey dairy cattle. He was a member of the
Rock County Jersey Breeders Association. He was also the leader
of the Albion Township 4-H Club for several years.
- After moving to Milton, he became custodian
of various elementary schools in the
- Milton School District. He was a member
of the Milton Seventh Day Men's Fellowship, Milton Kiwanis Club
and Milton Historical Society.
- He is survived by his wife, Gertrude,
a son Rollin (Phyllis) WILLIAMS, Roanoke,
- Virginia; a daughter Ann WILLIAMS
of Madison; a grandson Marc of Roanoke, Virginia; two sisters,
Gleneta WILLIAMS of Milton and Mary (Hugh) STEWART
of Racine.
- Funeral services were held Tuesday,
July 2, 1991, at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist
- Church. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name. [Thursday

- Susie E. MAXSON, 87, died Friday,
July 12, 1991, at Rock Haven Nursing Home
- following a long illness.
- She was born March 1, 1904, in Farina,
Ill., the daughter of George G. and Rena
- (ROGERS) GREEN. She married
Russell MAXSON on April 7, 1939, in a double wedding with
her sister Mildred.
- She attended Milton College for two
years and later received a teaching degree from
- Illinois State Normal University. She
taught school in the Farina area until moving to Milton in 1945.
She continued teaching at Big Foot, Harvard and South Beloit.
She was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the
Seventh Day Baptist Women's Board and the Milton Avenue Homemakers
Club.
- She is survived by her husband Russell;
a foster son, Laverne LUCKSINGER of
- Milton; three brothers, Maurice of
Strong Hurst, Ill., George of Monticello, Ill., and Clark of
Decatur, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Marian LEWIS of Riverside,
Calif., and Mrs. Mildred HARWOOD of Granville, N.Y. She
was preceded in death by four brothers, Byron, Frank, Paul and
Ralph.
- Funeral services were held Wed., July
17, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Baptist
- Church, Milton. Burial was in Milton
Junction Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. [Thursday

- Frances [Ellen] SHOLTZ, age
89, of 1700 S. River Rd., formerly of Milton, died
- Monday, July 22, 1991, at Cedar Crest
in Janesville.
- She was born October 3, 1901, in Walworth,
Wis., the daughter of Neely and Grace
- (POLAN) BABCOCK. She
graduated from Milton College in 1927 and married Raymond SHOLTZ,
August 24, 1927, in Battle Creek, Mich. She worked for the Life
Insurance Co., Davenport, Iowa. They moved to Milton in 1968.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church and the Women's
Circle.
- Mrs. SHOLTZ is survived by one
son, Paul (Katherine) of Cupertino, Calif., one
- daughter, Marilyn (Vincent) SHULER
[SCHULER] of Kenosha, Wis., one brother, Howard BABCOCK
of Battle Creek, Mich., four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 15, 1991, two
brothers, Willis and Kenneth, three sisters, Ruth BABCOCK,
Ethel AURAND and Alberta HULETT, and one grandson.
- Funeral services will be held Friday,
July 26, at 11 a.m. at the Seventh Day Baptist
- Church, Milton. Friends may call Friday
from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Entombment
will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park Mausoleum. Albrecht Funeral
Home, Milton, is handling the arrangements. [Thursday edition,
