- Dr. H[arvey] Laurence BURDICK,
83, a long-time Milton Physician, died Sunday,
- May 24, 1998, at the home of his daughter
Linda LAWTON in Little Genesee, N.Y.
- He was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Welton,
Iowa, the son of Harvey LaGrange and Beula
- BURDICK.
He married the former Virginia NORMAN on June 29, 1943
in Milton. Dr. BURDICK was a veteran of World War II
serving in the Army and the Korean Conflict serving in the Air
Force.
- A graduate of Milton High School, Milton
College and the University of Wisconsin-
- Madison Medical School in 1943, he
practiced medicine in Milton for 32 years, retiring in 1979.
- He was a member of the Milton Seventh
Day Baptist Church and a member of the
- American Legion Post. He received
an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Milton College
in 1977.
- Dr. BURDICK was a member of
a vocal quartet from Milton College that performed
- in the Midwest. He was a member of
the American Medical Association, and president of Medical Staff
at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, and Edgerton Memorial Hospital.
- He was chairman of the Audiovisual
Committee of the American Sabbath Tract and
- Communications Council, Janesville.
Dr. BURDICK was a member of the Milton Kiwanis Club.
- He is survived by his wife, Virginia;
two sons, Dr. Norman R. (Faith) BURDICK of
- Galesburg, Ill. and the Rev. Kenneth
B. (Ruth) BURDICK of Auburn, Wash; one daughter, Linda
(Gordon) LAWTON of Little Genesee, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.
- A memorial service will be held at
