- Eleanor Cora May JOHNSON, died
Dec. 4, 1999, at Edgerton Long Term Care
- Center.
- She was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Milton
Junction, the daughter of Clarence and Bernice
- (MILES) OLSBYE. She
spent her entire life in Milton, graduating from Milton College
in 1936. She married Harvey JOHNSON on June 6, 1937.
She was employed at the Milton College Library until its closing
in 1981. She was a member of the Milton Woman's Club and an
avid bridge player.
- She is survived by her husband, Harvey;
three children: Peter (Ileah) JOHNSON,
- Edgerton; Polly JONES, Milton;
and Paul (Leslie) JOHNSON, Madison; eight grand- children:
Brian JOHNSON, Watertown; Steven JOHNSON, Rockford;
James JOHNSON, Madison; Kristine CHAPADOS, Edgerton;
Deborah DEAN, Milton; Michael JONES, Milwaukee;
Pamela JONES, Chicago; Theresa DRAYS, Milton; and
thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
her parents and a sister, Ellen.
- Funeral services were held Tuesday,
Dec. 7, 1999, at the Seventh Day Baptist Church
- with Rev. George Calhoun officiating.
Burial was in the Milton Cemetery. Albrecht Funeral Home

- [Rosetta] Ruth MANOGUE, 89,
died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, at Mercy Hospital,
- Janesville.
- She was born July 30, 1910, in Berlin,
N.Y., the daughter of Rev. Jessie and Edith
- (CAMPBELL) HUTCHINS.
She spent her early years in Farina, Ill. She came to the Milton
area in the 1920s and married Jack MANOGUE on June 18,
1930. She worked at the Log Gables and at the Milton Junction
Post Office from 1954 to 1972. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church.
- She is survived by three sons: John
(Genevieve) of Milton, William (Diane) of Mt.
- Hope and Thomas (Deb ROBERTS)
of Janesville; four daughters, Sally (Douglas) FIELD of
Janesville, Judy (Frank) THOM of San Bernardino, Calif.,
Ruth (Richard) LEHMANN of Madison and Margaret (Jon) AHRENS
of Edgerton; a son-in-law, Jack BURNAM of Janesville;
a sister, Nory KOCH of Pomona, Calif.; 32 grandchildren;
46 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Aileen
BURNAM; two grandchildren; a sister, Margaret BURDICK;
and a brother, Marcus HUTCHINS.
- Funeral services were held Monday,
Dec. 13, 1999, at St. Mary Catholic Church.
- Fr. Jim Uppena officiated. Albrecht
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the

- Kenneth D[uane] HULL, 79, of
Milton, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at his home.
- He was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Milton,
the son of Loyal and Rena (GREENE)
- HULL,
and lived his entire life in the Milton area where he was a farmer.
He married Velma FARREY. Ken was a member of the Milton
Township board, Federal Land Bank board, Blackhawk Technical
School board and the Co-Op board.
- He is survived by his wife, Velma of
Milton; a son, Kerry (Julie) of Edgerton; three
- daughters: Judy GRUNZEL of Janesville,
Linda (Allan) SMEJKAL of Milton, and Kim (Doug) KRAUSE
of Milton; a sister, Mildred HUGHES of Rockford; 10 grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.
- Funeral services will be held at 1:30
p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 23, at the Milton
- Seventh Day Baptist Church, 720 E.
Madison Ave. Pastor George Calhoun will officiate. Friends can
call from 1-1:30 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to
HospiceCare, Inc., 3001 N. Memorial Drive, Janesville. Burial
will be in Milton Cemetery. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
- Russel J[ames] MAXSON, 96, died
Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Rock Haven,
- Janesville.
- He was born July 5, 1903, in Gentry,
Ark., the son of Darwin and Eunice
- (HUFFMAN) MAXSON. He
married Susie E. GREEN on April 7, 1939, in Fulton, Ill.
She died in 1991. He was a farmer and carpenter and also worked
for Milton Junction Lumber, General Case Co. and the Rock County
Farm. He was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church
for 54 years.
- He is survived by numerous nieces and
nephews, including Paul, Frank, and Edwin
- MAXSON
of Milton and Dale MAXSON of Janesville; and many friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters:
Ruth, Grace and Geneva; and three brothers: Fitch, Paul and Carl.
- Funeral services were held Wednesday,
Dec. 22, 1999, at the Milton Seventh Day
- Baptist Church. Pastor George Calhoun
officiated. Burial was in the Milton Junction Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to the Seventh Day Baptist Ministerial Retirement
Fund. Albrecht Funeral Home assisted the family. [Thursday
