Kenneth Karl "Bud" BLADORN, 82, of 2811 Hawthorne Ave., Janesville, died
Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at Haven House in Janesville.
He was born Aug. 21, 1918, on the home farm, to Frances (BENNETT) and George
BLADORN. He married Leni [Lena] KRACH on Nov. 5, 1949, at "The Little Brown Church in the Vale" in Iowa. He graduated from Milton College where he lettered in both baseball and football and was the 1940 football captain. During World War II he served as a corporal with the 2nd Ranger Battalion and was wounded on D-Day, June 6, 1944, at Omaha Beach. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Presidential Unit Citation. He lived and farmed in Plymouth Township until 1980 when he retired due to ill health. He then divided his time between Florida and Janesville.
H[e] is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lena; three children, Linda (Frank) MEYER
of Milton, Wendy BLADORN of Janesville, Robert (Cory) BLADORN of Janesville; three grandchildren: Monica (Mark) GILBERTSON of Orfordville, J.R. and Amanda BLADORN of Janesville. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Robert, who died in World War II.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001 at the Henke-Clarson Funeral
Home, Janesville. Pastor Jeff Williams officiated. Burial was in the Plymouth Cemetery. [Thursday edition, p. 4]

John J. SHEEHAN, 46, of Riverside, Ill., died July 19, 2001 of unexpected
complications. He was born Oct. 12, 1955, in Chicago, Ill.
John is survived by his wife, Francine; his children, Patrick, Katie and Connor; sisters,
Lisa SHEEHAN of Illinois, Margaret MILLS of California and Mary SCHOLL of Milton; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Riverside Presbyterian Church,
Riverside, Ill. Interment was in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Ivins Funeral Home, Riverside, Ill. was in charge of arrangements. [Thursday edition, p. 4]
