Joseph James REPYAK, 83, of Fort Atkinson, died Feb. 24, 2002, at Fort Health
and Rehabilitation Center, Fort Atkinson.
He was born March 23, 1918 at Streator, Ill. He married Betty EGGERT on June
20, 1936 and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past summer. He was employed at Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Faith Community Church in Fort Atkinson for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Fort Atkinson; two sons, James (Connie)
REPYAK of Fort Atkinson and David (Susan) REPYAK of Cambridge; four daughters: Nancy of Madison, Betty Jo (Ted) LEWIS of Ukiah, CA, Carolyn (Dale) MOORE of Milton and Bonnie (Richard) EBERLINE of Waukesha; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Elsie) REPYAK of Streator, Ill. and Florian (Joyce) SALAT of Streator, Ill.; and two sisters, Anna MURPHY of Streator, Ill. and Francis POLHOD of Streator, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joan; two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002 at Faith Community Church,
Fort Atkinson. Pastor Rick Lackore officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Nitardy Funeral Home, Fort Atkinson was in charge of arrangements. [Thursday edition, p. 4]

Erma E. MATSON, 88, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation
Center, Sparta.
She is survived by two daughters, Marian (Howard) TRESCHER of Milton and Ellen
(Steve) KRUSER of Onalaska; a son, Norman (Susan) MATSON Jr. of Sparta; three grandchildren: Bill (Julie) TRESCHER of Augusta, Deb (Don) ARNOLD of Milton and Linda (Mike) ROHERTY of Milton; six additional grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Luella SCHAMENS of Sparta and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at the Lanham-Miller Funeral
Home, Sparta. Rev. Clyde Ewers officiated. Burial will be at a later date in the Leon Cemetery, Leon. [Thursday edition, p. 5]

Sharyn Lea ASHENFELTER, 68, of 1126 Sue Lane, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002
at Haven House.
She as born on April 6, 1933 [in] Racine, the daughter of Edmund and Verna
(ALMOND) FELBOB. She was married to John ASHENFELTER. They lived in Janesville for 30 years, then moved to Milton six years ago.
She is survived by her husband, John, of Milton; three sons, Kevin (Sue) of
Washington State, Jeffery (Jean) of Janesville, and Brad (Sandy) of Fairbanks, AK; a brother, Donald FELBOB of Portland, OR; a sister, Gail ROZZONI of Kenosha; and four grandchildren.
There are no services planned. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial

Joyce Lee (JORDAN) WEST, 44, of Decatur, IN and formerly of Edgerton, died
unexpectedly Feb. 11, 2002.
She was born Jan. 5, 1958, in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Edward and Dorothy
(BEAUREGARD) JORDAN.
She is survived by a daughter, Jessie L. WEST of Columbia City, IN; her parents,
Harvey JORDAN and Ursula SHOWERS of Edgerton; four sisters: Denise JORDAN of Avilla, IN, Janice JORDAN of Milton, Gwen JORDAN of Fort Wayne, IN, Ruby TOWDEN of Mountain Home, AR; three brothers, Douglas JORDAN of Milton, Scott JORDAN of Janesville and Matthew (Sarita) JORDAN of Edgerton; her companion of seven years, Bobby HARTSOCK of Decatur, IN; and several niece and nephews, aunts and an uncle and cousins. She was preceded in death by her birth parents, Edward and Dorothy (BEAUREGARD) JORDAN; grandparents and other relatives.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Joyce Lee WEST will be held

Arthur L. SCHUMACHER, 78, of 1806 N. Claremont Drive, Janesville, died
Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002 at home.
He was born March 30, 1923, in Springfield, Minn., the son of Joseph and Amelia
(BAUER) SCHUMACHER. He married Doris ROIGER in Springfield on June 11, 1946 and has been a Janesville resident since 1957. He was employed by JATCO for 29 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Janesville, and a fourth degree of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; eight children: Mark (Bonnie) SCHUMACHER of
Milton, Linda (Mark) PETERSON of West Bend, Larry (Kathy) SCHUMACHER, Rita SCHULER, Jerry (Liz) SCHUMACHER, Art (Pam) SCHUMACHER, Kevin (Julie) SCHUMACHER and Mary SCHUMACHER, all of Janesville; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and twin sisters, Larraine JENNIGES and Lorreta HEADMAN, both of Wanda, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Janesville. Fr. Del Klink officiated. Entombment was in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Schneider Funeral Home, Janesville, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to Hospice Care, Inc., of St. Mary's Catholic Church. [Thursday edition, p. 5]
