Alvin M. NORDING, 54, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison.
He was born April 6, 1948 in Janesville, the son of Alvin and Margaret (FRUSHER)
NORDING. He worked at General Motors, Janesville. He married Ginger SCHULTZ on April 17, 1971, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Janesville. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton. He lived his entire life in the Janesville/Milton area. He graduated from Craig High School. Janesville. He was a member of UAW #95.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger of Milton; two sons, Bryan (Christina) NORDING of Janesville
and Scott NORDING at home; a daughter, Julie NORDING at home; a sister, Diana (Mike) MALMBERG of Kenosha; three grandsons: Tyler, Deven and Camden NORDING; his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Phyllis SCHULTZ of Milton; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27, 2002, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Msgr. Jim
Uppena officiated. Burial was in Milton Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name. Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, assisted the family. [p. 4]

Mary Catherine "Cathy" SIMERSON, 63, of Janesville, died Friday, April 26, 2002, at her
home.
She was born Aug. 31, 1938 in Milton, the daughter of Louie and Agnes (FANNING)
HANAUSKA. She graduated from Milton High School in 1956. On Dec. 26, 1960 she married Gerald SIMERSON at St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton. She was employed by Parker Pen Co. for 43 years and taught piano at JOHNSON's Music Store in the late 50s and early 60s. She was a member of St. William Catholic Church, Janesville.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald "Jerry" SIMERSON of Janesville; a daughter, Tammy
CHERRY of Janesville; two grandsons, Andy and Zach BALCH of Janesville; her mother, Agnes HANAUSKA of Milton; two brothers, Leo (Louise) HANAUSKA and Harold (Maureen) HANAUSKA, both of Milton; two sisters, Carol (Jim) CARLSON of Edgerton and Elizabeth JOHNSON of Milton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louie HANAUSKA; her brother-in-law, Gary
JOHNSON; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Perry SIMERSON.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday May 1, 2002, at St. William Catholic Church,
Janesville. Rev. Delbert Klink officiated. Burial was in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Milton. Zenter-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus was in charge of arrangements. [p. 4]

Dorothy M. GERSMEHL, 88, of 1901 Kensington St., Janesville, died Sunday, April 28, 2002,
at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center, Madison, following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 12, 1913, at Random Lake, the daughter of Herman and Anna (GOETSH)
MUELLER. She married Rev. Alfred NICOLAUS in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1969. She married Lienhard W. "Len" GERSMEHL on Nov. 25, 1971. She taught school for 32 years. From 1972 to 1980 she taught at St. Paul's School in Janesville. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, attended Bible classes regularly, was a choir member and a volunteer at Cedar Crest.
Surviving are her husband, Len GERSMEHL of Janesville; six step-children, Anna Beth (Herb)
OLIVEIRA of Gold Canyon, Ariz., Carol (Scott) TRAYNOR and Christine GERSMEHL, both of Milton, David (Helen) GERSMEHL, Marietta, GA, Jon (Anne) MISSAL GERSMEHL, Marjorie (Clark POSTON) VALE, Newport R.I.; six step-grandchildren: Brenda (Randy) SIMONSON, Peter TRAYNOR, John TRAYNOR, David GERSMEHL, Andrew GERSMEHL, Elise MISSAL; two step-great-grand- children: Tyler and Robert SIMONSON. In addition to her first husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., today, Thursday, May 2, 2002, at St. Paul's Evangelical
Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Garchow and Rev. David Ramel will officiate. Burial will be in Medina Cemetery, Marshall. Visitation will be at the church from Noon to time of services. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville is in charge of arrangements. [p. 4]

Suzanne Marie SIBLEY-WIERSMA, 30, of Janesville, and formerly of Sycamore, Ill., died
Friday, April 26, 2002, following an automobile accident.
She was born Aug. 11, 1971, in Sycamore, Ill., the daughter of Frederick and Patricia
(HENIGNA [HENIGAN]) SIBLEY. She married Chad WIERSMA in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 6, 2000. They have a 16 month old son, Hunter. She graduated from Sycamore High School in 1989 and received her degree in anthropology from Northern Illinois University in 1995. She studied abroad, i[n] France and China. In 1999 she received her masters degree from the Midwest Center for the Study of Oriental Medicine, Racine and she was currently practicing acupuncture and accupressure in Sycamore, Ill. and in Wisconsin. She was an avid supporter of the Humane Society and other organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Chad WIERSMA of Janesville; a son, Hunter, at home; her
parents, Fred and Pat SIBLEY of Sycamore, Ill.; two brothers, Tom (Donna) SIBLEY of Sycamore, Ill. and Scott (Michelle) SIBLEY of Bollingbrook, Ill.; her grandmother, Wilma HARMON of DeKalb, Ill.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis and Esther SIBLEY, Donna HENIGAN; and a great-grandmother, Lila HENIGAN.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at the Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.

Lillian F. "Lil" FANNING, 83, of 2930 N. Harmony Town Hall Road, died Tuesday, April 30,
2002, at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Janesville on Feb. 21, 1919, the daughter of Walter and Della (BUGGS) RICE.
She was a 1937 graduate of Janesville High School. She married John D. "Cud" FANNING on July 15, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2001. Together they founded FANNING Excavation in 1946 and continued its operation until 1980 when Bill and Duff took over the business. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Milton, Land Improvement Contractors Association, South Central Builders Association, Wisconsin On-Site Wastewater Treatment Association and the Wisconsin Liquid Waste Carriers Association.
She is survived by her two sons, Bill (Gloria) FANNING of Janesville and Duff (Dee)
FANNING of Milton; six grandchildren: Theresa (Mike) STABLER of Sarasota, Fla., Roger (Jodie) FANNING Jr. of Milton, Maria (Kyiel) KOVACH of Sun Prairie, Don (Beth) FANNING of Janesville, Stacey (Bob) WESSELKAMPER of Park Ridge, Ill.; and Terran THOMPSON of Milton; 13 great grandchildren: Amanda, Alysica and Adam STABLER, Ryan OZORES, Landon KOVACH, Colin, Claire and Camille WESSELKAMPER, Mitch, Lindsay, Elly, Iris and Ahna FANNING; a sister, Lucille (John) GREGG of Janesville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald FANNING; infant daughter, Mary Ann; granddaughter Shellie FANNING; and two brothers, Walter RICE III and Bobby RICE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2002 at St. Mary
Catholic Church, Milton. Msgr. James Uppena will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Janesville. Friends may call at the Schneider Funeral Home Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Mercy Assisted Care Hospice. [p. 5]

Janesville woman killed in one car rollover accident
Suzanne SIBLEY-WIERSMA, 30, of 713 Yuba Street, Janesville, died at the scene of a one-
car automobile accident on Friday, April 26 at 8:18 p.m.
The Milton Fire Department responded to the rollover accident on County Road MM one-tenth
of a mile west of Tarrant Road.
According to the Rock County Sheriff's Department SIBLEY-WIERSMA was westbound
when her 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier left the roadway on the north side of the road, and skidded driver's-side first into a power pole. The pole snapped and the vehicle went airborne, coming to rest on its roof. SIBLEY-WIERSMA was not wearing her seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She sustained extensive head and internal injuries and died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation. Alcohol and excessive speed are considered to be
contributing factors. [p. 5; see also obituary above]
