- Ardis F. BAUER, 92, a long-time
resident of Milton, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002,
- at the Skaalen Nursing Home in Stoughton.
- She was born April 25, 1910, the daughter
of Grant and Bessie (CRANDALL)
- RICE,
in Delavan. She married J. Harold BAUER on Aug. 15,
1932; he died in 1978. She worked many years as a bookkeeper
for her husband's building business, served as secretary in the
Milton College Alumni Office and worked as a guide at the Milton
House. She was a long-time member of the First Congregational
Church.
- Surviving are sons (and spouses): Warren
(Mary) of Madison and Wayland (Anne)
- of Bettendorf, IA; seven grandchildren:
John (Kelli) BAUER of Milton, Sarah (Robert) JASS
of Milton, Susan (Allan) ARNDT of Janesville, Andrea BAUER
of Chicago, Ill., Julie (Steven) DeCOOK of Janesville,
Christina BAUER of Omaha, Neb. and Gregory BAUER
of Bettendorf, IA; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother,
Gordon RICE of Whitewater. In addition to her husband,
her son, Wayne, preceded her in death.
- Services will be held today, Thursday,
Nov. 14, 2002, at Albrecht Funeral Home.
- Visitation will be held from 12:30
p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Milton
Cemetery. Rev. Herb Saunders will officiate. [Thursday edition,

- Theron Henry OCHS, 91, of Sunnyvale,
Calif. died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, following
- a brief illness.
- He was born Oct. 26, 1910, in Springfield,
Ohio, the son of Henry and Ida
- (LIPPINCOTT) OCHS.
He graduated from Garwin High school, Garwin, Iowa in 1928.
He received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and physics
from Milton College in 1932. He had been the manage of the
Holiday Inn in Eau Claire before his retirement.
- Theron is survived by his son, Philip,
and daughter, Carol (David) BLANCHAR,
- both of Santa Clara, Calif.; three
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth
OCHS of Milton.
- Funeral services will be held at 1
p.m., Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at the Milton Seventh
- Day Baptist Church. Visitation will
be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at the church.
Interment will be in Milton Cemetery.
- Albrecht Funeral Home is assisting
