- Hannah SMITH, 88, of Janesville,
formerly of Milton, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005,
- at Fairhaven in Whitewater.
- She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Lima
Center, the daughter of Kendal W. PEABODY
- and Florence (MAWHINNEY) PEABODY.
She graduated from Milton Union High School and was married to
Glen Guy GREGOIRE May 4, 1936. He preceded her in death
on Oct. 17, 1971. In 1974 she married Albert SMITH. She
was employed by Mercy Hospital un the dietary department from
1959 to 1974. She was active in the Janesville Senior Center,
taught a ceramics class and was a member of the chorus and kazoo
band. She was also active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
In earlier years she was superintendent and teacher of Sunday
School at Milton's First Methodist Church and was also active
in the church circle. She and Glen were active in the Milton
Swingin' Squares, round dancing and ballroom dancing. She was
a member of the Red Hat Society.
- Hannah is survived by her daughters,
Patty (Gerald FREDERICK) GRIFFIN, and
- Ruth GREGOIRE, both of Milton
and Hope WOODS of Woodbury, TN; a daughter-in- law, Linda
GREGOIRE of Fort Atkinson and a son-in-law, Gerald L.
DECKER of Edgerton; grandchildren: Debra (Andy) WEBERPAL,
Susan (Mike MORWOOD) GRIFFIN, Christopher Guy (Athena)
GRIFFIN, Angela (Tim) PERRY and Polly GRIFFIN,
Andrew (Susan) DECKER, Shari DECKER, Teresa (John)
PARRISH and Vicki (Randy) REDFORD, Walter (Patricia)
WOODS and Jackie WOODS, Troy (Kari) GREGOIRE
and Glen A. (Tracy) GREGOIRE; 22 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her
first husband, Glen; her second husband, Al; her daughter, Jean
DECKER; and her son, John GREGOIRE.
- Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 25,
2005 from 3-6 p.m. at the Whitcomb-Lynch-
- Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral
services will be Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary
Catholic Church, 313 Wall St., Janesville. Burial will be in
the Milton Cemetery, Highway 26, Milton. Memorials may be made
to Fairhaven in Whitewater or the Janesville Senior Center. [Wednesday
