- Minerva T. KNAPP was born at Scott, N.Y., December
14, 1828. She came of an
- excellent family in which were six sons and four daughters.
The only survivor is Clarence KNAPP of Scott, N.Y.
Another brother was Asher KNAPP, who lived for a number
of years at Utica, Wis., and for a short time at Milton. Mrs.
F. E. WEBSTER of Milton Junction is a daughter of his,
and Mrs. Reuben RANDOLPH a granddaughter.
- She experienced religion when young. She was brought up
to observe the seventh
- day as the Sabbath, but it is not known to the writer what
her church affiliations were in early life. Since her home
has been in Milton she has been a member of the S.D.B. church.
- October 17, 1906, she was married at New Hope, N.Y. to Ellery
H. BURDICK of
- Milton, and since that time she has lived in this village.
For some time her strength has been failing, and her mind losing
its grasp. On the morning of June 28 she passed away.
- She loved the services of the church, and it was a privation
to her not to be able to
- attend in the last years of her life. She expressed faith
in the Savior, and confidence in his promises.
- Funeral services were conducted at the home June 30, by Pastor
Randolph. A ladies
- quartet from the church choir sang beautiful hymns of faith.
The pastor's text was John 3:16. [Thursday edition, p. 1]

her middle name was Saberah.]

- Cora May CRANDALL, a daughter of Roswell A. and Juliette
CRANDALL, was
- born in Walworth, Wis., June 4, 1860, and entered into her
eternal rest July 21, 1913. Mrs. CRANDALL's father had
passed to the life beyond but a short time before, and her death
was the first break in the family circle of four sisters and
two brothers, Mrs. F. O. BURDICK of Boulder, Colo.; Mrs.
E. O. CRANDALL, Mrs. G. E. COON, Mr. John CRANDALL
of Milton Junction; Mr. Sherman L. CRANDALL of Brodhead,
Wis.
- On April 18, 1881 she was united in marriage to Orville G.
CRANDALL at Utica,
- Wis. Into this home were born two children, Eldon D. and
Jennie. Besides a sorrowing husband and children, the deceased
leaves an aged mother, the three sisters and two brothers, and
a large circle of friends to mourn the loss of a devoted wife,
an affectionate mother, a loving sister and a good neighbor.
- Mrs. CRANDALL came into a real christian experience
early in life. When twelve
- years of age she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized
by her pastor, Elder James Bailey, into the fellowship of the
Walworth, Wis., S.D.B. church. Afterwards when she came to Utica
she united with the church at that place. Twenty-two years ago
Mr. and Mrs. CRANDALL removed to Milton Junction and became
members of the church in whose fellowship she remained up to
the time of her death.
- Mrs. CRANDALL's christian belief expressed itself
in works. Though for some
- time she had been prevented by failing health from active
participation in the work and worship of the church she loved,
yet her interest continued unabated. For several years she was
president of the Ladies Aid society and was actively interested
in the Sabbath school. The church has lost a good friend, a zealous
worker, a faithful member. She was also an honored member of
the local camp of Royal Neighbors who were present at the funeral
in a body to pay their last respects.
- Services of farewell were held at her late home Wednesday
afternoon, July 23, 1913,
- conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. N. Jordan, assisted by Rev.
L. C. Randolph of Milton, an old childhood friend. Her body was
laid to rest in the cemetery at Milton Junction. [Thursday
edition, p. 1]
