Milton Journal-Telephone

March 1915

Milton Junction, Milton Twp., Rock County, Wisconsin

18
Mary A[nn] VINCENT, daughter of James and Jane VINCENT, was born at
Milton, Wis., May 1848, and passed to her heavenly home March 10, 1915. She was the sixth child in a family of nine children, of whom only three are now living, Mrs. Jane LOWRY [LOWERY] of Evansville and Lucy and James VINCENT of Milton.
In 1896, during the pastorate of Rev. C. E. CARPENTER at Milton, she united with
the Methodist Episcopal church and remained a faithful member of the same until she heard her Saviour say, "Come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Hers was a beautiful Christian character. Quiet and unassuming, she sought to do her many kind deeds on the spirit Jesus taught when he said, "Let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth." She was ever ready to deny self for the sake of others. She loved the church and could say with the Psalmist, "I was glad when they said unto me, 'Let us go into the house of the Lord.''
The funeral services were held at the home, Friday afternoon, March 12, under the
direction of her Pastor, W. W. Wilson, Rev. M. A. Drew and Rev. Webster Millar assisting. Three beautiful selections were rendered by Rev. and Mrs. M. A. Drew and Mr. and Mrs. Summers. Interment took place in the Milton cemetery. W. W. W. [Thursday edition, p. 1]

George Yost HEYDON was born at Black Earth, Dane Co., Wis., Sept. 19th, 1868.
He was the eldest child of James and Margaret HEYDON. His boyhood and youth was spent at Black Earth, with his parents, brothers and sister. For the past twenty years or more he has lived in the vicinity of Milton and Milton Junction. On April 7th, 1898 he was married to Miss Emma GALLUP. Two children were born to them; one, a little son, who died in infancy, and a daughter, Harriet, who, with her mother, is left to mourn together with an aged father, two brothers and one sister.
George's health began to fail in December, and a few weeks ago he went to a
sanitarium in Madison for treatment, but in spite of the best medical skill and loving care he continued to fail until Sunday morning, March 21st, when he peacefully passed to the life beyond. The funeral services were held at the residence of Mr. R. H. SAUNDERS, Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. W. W. Wilson officiating. The music was furnished by a quartette, Rev. and Mrs. DREW and Mr. and Mrs. S. S. SUMMERS. Interment was made in Milton Cemetery.
Among the relatives attending the funeral were his father, James HEYDON, two
brothers, William and Burdett, and his sister, Mrs. Ernest MARQUART, all of Black Earth. [Thursday edition, p. 1]
