- Mary A[nn] VINCENT, daughter of James and Jane VINCENT,
was born at
- Milton, Wis., May 1848, and passed to her heavenly home March
10, 1915. She was the sixth child in a family of nine children,
of whom only three are now living, Mrs. Jane LOWRY [LOWERY]
of Evansville and Lucy and James VINCENT of Milton.
- In 1896, during the pastorate of Rev. C. E. CARPENTER
at Milton, she united with
- the Methodist Episcopal church and remained a faithful member
of the same until she heard her Saviour say, "Come ye blessed
of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation
of the world." Hers was a beautiful Christian character.
Quiet and unassuming, she sought to do her many kind deeds on
the spirit Jesus taught when he said, "Let not thy left
hand know what thy right hand doeth." She was ever ready
to deny self for the sake of others. She loved the church and
could say with the Psalmist, "I was glad when they said
unto me, 'Let us go into the house of the Lord.''
- The funeral services were held at the home, Friday afternoon,
March 12, under the
- direction of her Pastor, W. W. Wilson, Rev. M. A. Drew and
Rev. Webster Millar assisting. Three beautiful selections were
rendered by Rev. and Mrs. M. A. Drew and Mr. and Mrs. Summers.
Interment took place in the Milton cemetery. W. W. W. [Thursday
