- Alma J[ane] MILLETT was born in Rock Co. Wis., December
11, 1848 and died
- at her home here on the morning of January 29, at the age
of 71 years, 1 mo. and 18 days. On November 24, 1875, she was
married to Mr. J. E. DAVIDSON. To this union five children
were born, Arthur of Oklahoma, Russell of Milton, Thomas of Kansas,
Mrs. PLATZ of Chicago and Mrs. LEE of Milwaukee.
- In the year 1889 she gave her heart and life to Christ, and
on September 8, of that
- year united with the Methodist Church of this place. She
has always been a staunch friend of her pastors, a faithful attendant
on the church services and a loyal supporter of the church in
all its varied activities. The church will greatly miss her.
- She leaves to mourn her going, her five children, eight grandchildren,
three sisters and
- two brothers, and a large circle of devoted friends.
- Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, 1:30 at the
home and 2:00 at the
- Methodist church, Rev. W. S. Carr, pastor of the Methodist
church, officiating. The college male quartet sang.
- Interment was in Milton Cemetery. [Thursday edition, p.
