- Clayton Daniel FREEBORN, son of Irving L. and Nellie
FOX FREEBORN, was
- born at Lima, Wis., February 25, 1884, and died in Shinglehouse,
Pa., February 28, 1926, just three days past forty-two years
of age.
- Much of his life was spent in the state of Wisconsin, where
he grew to manhood. A
- short time was spent in South Dakota, and the last few years
in New York and Pennsylvania.
- On Nov. 14, 1906, he was united in marriage to Jesse E. LAWTON
of Albion, Wis.
- To them were born two children, Florence and Nellie, who
with the wife, parents and two brothers are left to mourn his
early departure. The parents and one brother, Frank, live in
Shinglehouse, Pa., and Victor, the other brother, lives at Cuba,
N.Y.
- In 1896 he was baptized by the late George W. BURDICK
and united with the
- Milton Junction Seventh Day Baptist church. When the Seventh
Day Baptist church was organized at Exeland, Wis., he united
with it, and here retained his membership until the time of his
death.
- For the past six years of his life he was practically an
invalid, and much of the time
- suffered intensely.
- On Tuesday, March 2, funeral services were held in Shinglehouse,
conducted by Rev.
- Mr. Hughes, of the Baptist church. It was Mr. FREEBORN's
wish to be brought to Milton Junction for burial and here a brief
service was conducted by Erlo E. Sutton of the Seventh Day Baptist
church last Friday.
- Burial was in the Milton Junction cemetery.
- The widow and daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Victor FREEBORN
and daughter
- Jeanette of Cuba, N.Y., accompanied the body here. Others
from out of town who attended the services here were Mr. and
Mrs. C. S. LAWTON, F. A. LAWTON, Mr. and Mrs. James
HERRINGTON, Mr. and Mrs. Martin GUNDERSON and son

- The following notice was taken from the Williamsburg, Va.,
paper. Mr. and Mrs.
- GREENMAN were both pioneer residents of Milton Junction.
They built one of the first houses, and in the many years they
lived here were closely identified with all movements for the
growth and betterment of the village. Mrs. GREENMAN
was the grandmother of Miss Lois MORRIS and Mrs. J. F.
GALLAGHER.
- "Funeral services for Mrs. Lois [P.] COLLINS
GREENMAN, age 83 years, who
- died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. L. KING,
Thursday at 1 o'clock, will be conducted from the home tomorrow
afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. W. J. KING of Leesburg,
Va. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove cemetery.
- "Mrs. GREENMAN was born in New York state and
moved to Wisconsin in
- infancy. Her father, Dr. COLLINS, a pioneer in the
west was one of the early state senators from Wisconsin. Mrs.
GREENMAN was a woman of charming personality. Everyone
who knew her loved her and she had a host of friends everywhere
and especially among children.
- "Mr. and Mrs. GREENMAN came to Virginia 24 years
ago. Mr. GREENMAN
- died 14 years ago, a few months after they celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary. Since that time Mrs. GREENMAN
had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. D. J. KING.
She is survived by her daughter, one brother W. R. COLLINS
of New York city; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren,
whose homes are in Wisconsin and Florida." [Thursday
