- Mrs. Sam GARTHWAITE, who died in Madison, Feb. 2,
1930, was brought to
- Milton Junction for burial. Pastor J. F. Randolph conducted
the service in the Milton Junction S.D.B. church at noon which
was attended by the family of the deceased and other relatives
and friends.
- Mary [Liberty Victory] CLARK [CLARKE] was born
April 7, 1864, to Almeron
- and Marie DAVID CLARK [CLARKE] at Berlin,
Wis. She was married to Sam GARTHWAITE at Albion, Wis.,
Dec. 25, 1881 by Elder James ROGERS. She is survived
by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Maud ARMSTRONG; three
sons, Louie, Fred and Clarence; six grandchildren and a brother
William CLARK [CLARKE]. Her parents, one sister
and two brothers preceded her in death. [Thursday edition,

- Funeral services for George A[lcott] BARNHART were
held at the home near Otter
- Creek, Saturday, February 22, at 2 p.m. Rev. Anton Hatlestad
officiating. Two vocal numbers were sung by Mrs. E. R. HULL
and Mrs. Edna SHELTON.
- Burial was in the Milton cemetery.
- Mr. BARNHART was born in the town of Harmony, Sept.
3, 1867. He was married
- to Dora H. CHAMBERLAIN on April 15, 1894. He died
suddenly in his home near Otter Creek, Feb. 19, 1930 at the age
of 62 years, 4 months and 16 days. He is survived by his wife
and three sisters Mrs. George SAYRE, Mrs. Luella BOSS
and Mrs. George SAUNDERS, all of Milton, besides other
relatives and many friends. [Thursday edition, p. 1]
- The funeral of Mrs. Arthur CRAIG of Milton, who died
Friday at the home of her
- daughter, Mrs. Pearl FIELD, took place Sunday at 2
p.m. in the Milton Methodist church, the Rev. Anton Hatlestad
officiating. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. SUMMERS rendered two vocal
selections with Mrs. M. A. DREW at the piano. Burial was
in Milton cemetery.
- Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral
were: Melvin
- CHADWICK, Mr. and Mrs. Lucius KLEMENT, Mrs.
Ida JAYCOX, Orlo JAYCOX and son Edward and daughter
Ethel, Mrs. Chas ALLEN, Mrs. Martha WALDRON and
grandson Laurence CRAIG of Fort Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs.
Chas. KENDALL and daughter Coral and Mrs. Effie CRAIG
of Whitewater; Mrs. Marie CROSS, Mr. James MULQUEENY
and Mr. and Mrs. Frank GREEN of Chicago.
- Florence Mabel CHADWICK was born in Fort Atkinson,
March 21, 1880, the
- daughter of Ezra and Phoebe COON CHADWICK.
In her early childhood her parents lived in Milton, but returned
later to Fort Atkinson where she lived until she married Arthur
CRAIG, Nov. 12, 1900. Since that time, Mr. and Mrs. CRAIG
have lived continuously in Milton. She joined the Milton Methodist
church shortly after her marriage. She was a member of the Ladies'
Aid Society and the women's Bible class of the Sunday school.
She also has been an active member of the Women's Relief Corps.
- She leaves one daughter, Mrs. FIELD; three grandchildren,
Rex and Phoebe ADDIE
- and Nelson FIELD; two sisters and one brother, Mrs.
Ida JAYCOX, Mrs. Martha WALDRON, and Melvin CHADWICK,
all of Fort Atkinson.
- The immediate cause of Mrs. CRAIG's death was a stroke,
which occurred Feb. 21.
- She had been in poor health for more than a year. [Thursday
