25
Mrs. Earl MARYOTT, who has been seriously ill for the past three months, departed
from this life at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 1933 at her home in Milton.
Verna [Belle] PALMER was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew B. PALMER, Feb 16,
1892, in Milton Junction and lived here all her life with the exception of a few years spent in Bethel, Wis. At the age of 25 years Verna was baptized and united with the Milton Junction S.D.A. Church, of which she has been a faithful member. In 1914 she was married to Earl H. MARYOTT. Two daughters, Dorothy and Wanda were born to this union.
Besides her husband and two daughters, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Clara
PALMER, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; and three brothers: George PALMER, Milton Junction, Dr. Walter B. PALMER, Long Beach, Calif., Spencer Z. PALMER, Morristown, South, Dakota, and three sisters: Mrs. George CRANDALL Jr., Milton Junction, Mrs. Edward TYLER and Mrs. George EKVALL, Santa Barbara, Calif.
Mrs. MARYOTT leaves behind her a record of a wholesome Christian life and she
will live in the memory of those who loved her for her acts of kindness, especially her two nephews, Henry and John HAMLIN, in whose life she tried to fill a mother's place. She was of a bright vivacious temperament, always looking on the humorous side of life. At intervals throughout her life, she has suffered severe illness, but has always borne her suffering with a cheerful patience especially her last illness when she bore her cross like a brave soldier.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the home and at 2:30 o'clock at the
Seventh-day Adventist church, Milton Junction with Elder Hugh Williams of Madison, officiating. Mrs. Arthur VANSICKLE presided at the piano. A male quartet from Milton college rendered the vocal numbers. Burial was in Milton Junction cemetery, the pallbearers being Herve and Timothy PHELPS, J. E. MARSHALL and Charles ANTISDEL.
