- Emma Melissa WELLS, daughter of Caleb and Martha WILLIAMS
WELLS, was
- born in Milton Junction July 22, 1854, and died at her home
in Milton on her 80th birthday, July 22, 1934. She was married
to Oscar Porter FREEBORN on October 21, 1883. To them
was born one daughter, Pansy of Milton. Mr. FREEBORN
passed away six years ago. A brother, Byron WELLS of
Milton, preceded her in death several years ago.
- Mrs. FREEBORN was baptized and joined the Milton Seventh
Day Baptist church
- as a girl, and has always retained her membership there.
- For more than a year Mrs. FREEBORN has been confined
to her home by illness.
- On Sunday afternoon she passed quietly away.
- The funeral was held in the home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev.
C. L. Hill and Rev.
- Edwin Shaw officiating. Prof. L. H. STRINGER sang
two solos.
- Burial was in Milton cemetery. The pallbearers were Loyal
HULL, Frank HULL,
- Wilmer J. SAUNDERS, and H. M. BURDICK.
- Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were
two nephews of the
- deceased, C. V. WELLS of Milwaukee, and Kenneth WELLS
of Racine, and Mrs. Minnie WILLIAMS of Janesville. [Thursday
