- Harold [Edwin] VAN HORN, 35, Madison, died in the
Madison General hospital
- Monday morning from injuries received Saturday morning when
the car he was driving crashed into a culvert on highway 12 near
Nora. He was taking three people, all of whom were injured
in the crash, from Jefferson to Madison. He regained consciousness
in the hospital and told his wife that he must have drowsed at
the wheel as he was driving 35 to 40 miles an hour, and his statement
was corroborated by one of his companions.
- Surviving besides his wife are his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Willard VAN HORN who
- are spending the summer at Albion; and two brothers, Bernard
of Waukesha and Rolland.
- Funeral services were held in Madison Wednesday with burial
in Milton cemetery.
- Among those from a distance who attended were Mr. and Mrs.
P. J. FURROW, Mrs. Lucy VAN HORN and Mr. and Mrs.
Walter KERSHAW of Welton, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest SAUNDERS
of Delmar, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Bert SAUNDERS of Garwin,
Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Irel VAN HORN of Clinton, Iowa.
