Mrs. Mary [Ann] WATSON BURDICK, widow of Rev. George W. BURDICK,
passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. R. HURLEY, in Milton early Monday morning, Nov. 16, 1936.
Mrs. BURDICK, the youngest of thirteen children of Wm. H. and Charlotte KENT
WATSON, was born in the town of Dunkirk, Dane county, Wis. Feb. 11, 1855.
On Nov. 5, 1873, she was united in marriage with George W. BURDICK of Utica,
Wis. To this union were born three children: G. Merton, Harvey L, and Bernice A., all of Milton.
She is survived by the three children; also seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs.
Frances MARTIN, Rogers, Ark., and Mrs. Emily CHIDISTER, Sioux Falls, Ia.; one brother, E. T. WATSON, Los Angeles, Calif.; and several nephews and nieces.
When first married Mr. and Mrs. BURDICK settled on a farm at Utica, where he
served as pastor of the Utica S.D.B. church until 1881 when they moved to Little Genesee, N.Y., where he was pastor until 1893. He was pastor of the Milton Junction church until 1899 and they lived on the place they had bought in Milton, until 1900 when he accepted a call to the Welton, Iowa S.D.B. church where they stayed until 1915. During all these years she worked faithfully with her husband in the various pastorates.
Returning to Milton in 1915 they resided in their home until his death Feb. 13, 1922,
and where she has continued to live most of the time since.
Mrs. BURDICK was baptized at Utica and joined the church there, taking her
membership to the various places of their pastorates, finally joining the church at Milton where she remained a faithful member until her death.
She was very devoted to her home, a great lover of nature and music.
Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. R. HURLEY, in
Milton Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. with Rev. Carroll L. Hill officiating.
Burial was in the Milton Cemetery. The pallbearers were nephews of the deceased -
Dr. G. E. CROSLEY and Dr. A. L. BURDICK of Milton, Oscar WATSON of Edgerton and Claude WATSON of Stebbinsville. [Thursday edition, p. 1]

Norman [Eugene] CROSBY, 21, Milton, who was accidently shot last Saturday while
hunting with his brother Leon near Clear lake, died that night in Mercy hospital, Janesville. They had shot at a squirrel and both were trying to club it when the accident occurred.
The funeral, one of the largest held in the new S.D.B. church, was held Tuesday at 2:30
p.m., Rev. Carroll L. Hill, officiating. Burial was in Milton cemetery. The pallbearers were Walter COPELAND, Edw. COURTNEY, Louis SUNBY, Kenneth EMERSON, Charles MARQUETTE and Ray LAWTON.
Norman was born Sept. 27, 1915, in Milton. He was prominent in athletics in Union
high school from which he graduated in 1933 after which he attended the state teachers college at La Crosse. At the time of his death he was employed by the Fisher Body company in Janesville.
He is survived by his wife, the former Janet ANDERSON of Whitewater, and an
infant son; his mother, Mrs. Clara CROSBY who is in Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Agnes LANGER of Beloit, and two brothers, Leon and Donald of Milton. His father died in 1915. [Thursday edition, p. 1]

Mrs. Eliza [Etta] MONTANYE [nee NELSON] of Darien, who was injured
Tuesday at 5 p.m. when knocked down by an auto in Darien, died this morning in the Beloit Hospital. Her right side was crushed and one leg was broken in four places. The lady, an aunt of G. W. HOLLIDAY, Milton, would have been 78 years old next month. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p. m. in a Beloit funeral home.
Mr. and Mrs. HOLLIDAY spent Wednesday with her at the hospital in Beloit.

Funeral services for Mrs. S. D. SERL, who died in Mercy Hospital, Janesville,
Monday morning, were held in a Delavan funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Carroll L. Hill, Milton, officiating assisted by Dr. Edwin Shaw. Burial was at Emerald Grove.
Clara [Mae], daughter of George A. and Cordelia BURDICK COON, was born in
Leonardsville, N.Y., April 14, 1868. As a girl of 16 she was baptized in the Seventh Day Baptist church, and maintained membership in the Milton church. She was a graduate of Leonardsville academy, and when 22 came to Wisconsin and taught school.
She married Stephen SERL Oct. 5, 1892, and except for brief times at Platteview
and Milton, they have resided at Fairfield since.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Robt. CLOWES, Darien, a son
Raymond of Bradford, four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Earl WETMORE, Darien, and Nettie COON, Riverside, Calif.; and one brother, Floyd, of Riverside. [Thursday edition, p. 1]
