- Mrs. C. Allen DAVIS, Milton, who was taken to Edgerton
Memorial hospital
- Saturday, for treatment, died there Sunday night. She had
been ill several months.
- Alice Mary, daughter of Nels Peter and Caroline NELSON,
was born Dec. 3, 1875,
- at Dell Rapids, S.D., where on April 17, 1895, she was married
to C. Allen DAVIS, Milton, her father, a lay minister,
officiating. At the same time her sister Anna and Joseph SWENSON
of Viborg, S.D., were married. Anna, however, died a few months
later.
- With the exception of a year spent in South Dakota, Mr. and
Mrs. DAVIS have
- resided in or near Milton where he for a time was associated
in the printing business with his brother, W. K. DAVIS.
- Mrs. DAVIS, an active member of the S.D.B. church
and the Women's Benevolent
- society, also taught the women's Sabbath school class. She
had been president of the local W.C.T.U. many years.
- She is survived by her husband; two sons, Myrl N. of Appleton,
and Staff Sgt. C.
- Allison DAVIS, now in India; a daughter Hazel; three
grandchildren; three brothers, Martin NELSON of Sharon,
Charles NELSON of New Orleans, and Julius NELSON,
Milton; and four sisters, Miss Hannah NELSON and Mrs.
B. R. ROOD, Milton, Mrs. L. C. FREDERICK, Niangua,
Mo., and Mrs. R. V. HURLEY, Madison.
- Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Milton S.D.B.
church, Dr. Edwin
- Shaw and Rev. Carroll L. Hill taking part. Mrs. Robert RANDOLPH
presided at the organ. Burial was in Milton, pallbearers being
Martin and Julius NELSON, B. R. ROOD, D. N. INGLIS,
W. G. POLAN and Loyal TODD.
- Out-of-town relatives and friends attending were Mr. and
Mrs. Myrl DAVIS,
- Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. R. V. HURLEY, Madison; Mrs.
Martin NELSON, Sharon; Mrs. Geo. STEPHENSON, Delavan;
Mrs. Franklin BRADLEY, Sturtevant; Mr. and Mrs. Leman
ROOD, Edgerton; Miss Bernice BOWEN, Milwaukee;
