- Mrs. Geo. W. POST who had been
in failing health the past few months but who was
- active until two weeks ago, died at
2:30 p.m. Sunday in her home on High street, Milton.
- Mary E[lizabeth], daughter of Ezra
and Elizabeth ENSIGN GOODRICH, was born
- March 23, 1859 in Milton. Her grandfather,
Joseph GOODRICH, was one of the founders of Milton. She
studied music at Milton academy and later taught music for several
years.
- In 1883 she married Dr. Geo. W. POST
of Milton and they moved to Chicago where
- he was a prominent physician. In 1915
they returned to Milton and built the home on High street where
they spent the rest of their lives.
- Mrs. POST was a member of the
Chicago S.D.B. church and the W.C.T.U. of
- Milton.
- Survivors are four daughters, Mrs.
W. D. BLISS, Wauwatosa, Mrs. W. F.
- STEWART,
Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Anne BERGH, Chicago, and Mrs. M.
D. DAVIS, Milton; a son, Charles E. POST, Marshfield;
fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her husband,
a son and a daughter preceded her in death.
- Funeral services were held at 3 p.m.
Tuesday in the Milton S.D.B. church, Rev. Elmo
- F. Randolph and Rev. Carroll L. Hill
officiating, Burial was in Milton cemetery, J. H. COON,
J. D. CLARKE, Rev. W. D. BURDICK, A. M. PAUL,
Geo. R. BOSS and Dr. Geo. E. CROSLEY were honorary
pallbearers. Active bearers were Russell BURDICK, Spencer
HOWARD, Leland HULETT, Truman LIPPINCOTT,
L. M. VAN HORN and W. O. WHITFORD.
- Among those attending the funeral were
relatives from Plainfield, N.J., Columbus,
- Ohio, Chicago, Marengo, Hebron, and
Rockford, Ill., Milwaukee, Barron, Marshfield, Spooner, Monroe,
Lake Geneva, Thiensville and Janesville. [Thursday edition,
