Mrs. Mary SAUNDERS HERITAGE, daughter of the late Gardner SAUNDERS,
died Jan. 16, 1904, at her home southwest of Walworth at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 27 days. Most of her life has been spent at Milton and Walworth where she has a large circle of friends. She attended church one week before her death and was in usual health until Thursday, when erysipelas began and she passed away Saturday at one o'clock.
Besides a sorrowing husband and two adopted sons she leaves a mother, a sister, two
brothers and a large circle of friends to mourn her loss.
She was an earnest Christian and a member of the S.D.B. church, and an active
worker in the W.C.T.U.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon in the S.D.B. church at Walworth and
interment made at Milton Tuesday. [Thursday edition, p. 1]

E. L. ELLIS of Dodge Center, Minn., arrived here Sunday morning with the body of
Dr. [James Manning] SAUNDERS for burial in the Milton cemetery. Dr. SAUNDERS was 87 years of age and died Jan. 14 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. L. ELLIS. Mrs. SAUNDERS died in 1885 and the remains were buried here and they both
now rest side by side. Two daughters survive them - Mrs. E. L. ELLIS of Dodge Center and Mrs. L. J. BRIGGS of Clear Lake, Polk county, Wis. [Thursday edition, p. 1]
