- Mary Rowesser STEWART was born June 16, 1845, in Albion,
Dane Co., Wis.,
- and died in Milton Junction Feb. 7, 1905.
- She was married to Justin M. HULL Oct. 6, 1863, in
Albion. Four children were
- born to them three with her husband having passed on before
to the better land. One son, Nathan, remains to mourn the loss
of a devoted mother to whom he has been a most affectionate son,
tenderly caring for her in the years of suffering through which
she has been called to pass.
- A few days before her death the writer called to see her
and after some conversation
- and prayer she said "I am trying to fully trust in Jesus."
The funeral was held from her late home, conducted by the writer.

- Dea. L[ester] T[inker] ROGERS was born in Waterford,
Conn., Nov. 8, 1821, and
- died at Milton Junction, Wis., Feb. 15, 1905, in the 84th
year of his age. At the age of five years his mother his mother
died and he was given a home with his grandfather. His educational
advantages were those afforded by the district school of his
native town, until his twentieth year when he entered De Ruyter
Institute in Madison county, N.Y., where he remained three and
one-half terms. Then he was called home to care for his aged
grandmother. In 1845 he married Elizabeth MILLER of Otselic,
N.Y., who died March 11, 1848, leaving one son who died a year
later. On April 8, 1854, he married Sarah M. COON, daughter
of Deacon Pardon COON, of De Ruyter, N.Y., and in the
fall of 1855 they came to this town and settled on a farm. Ten
years later they sold the farm and located in the village of
Milton Junction.
- After coming to Milton three children were born to Dea. and
Mrs. ROGERS, Delana
- F., Benedict W., and Elizabeth A. The last named died Feb.
16, 1884, and the mother in April, 1894. At the age of 16 years,
Brother ROGERS professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
and later became a member of the Seventh-day Baptist church in
Waterford, Conn. When the Rock River Seventh-day Baptist church
was organized, in April, 1856, he was one of the constituent
members and in the following year was ordained deacon and has
served the church in that capacity for nearly forty-nine years.
Dea. ROGERS will be greatly missed in the various civil
offices in which he has served the public. He was assessor 7
years, supervisor 4 years, justice of the peace 4 years, notary
public 44 years, town clerk 9 years. In all this service he was
conscientious, and painstaking and a faithful servant of the
people.
- Few men have the opportunity to serve so long and very few
do it so well. He died
