Mrs. Almarion CLARK [CLARKE] [nee Maria DAVID] died at the home of
Reuben RANDOLPH at Milton Junction Monday, March 9. Funeral services were held at the Seventh-day Baptist church yesterday conducted by the Rev. O. S. Mills.
Mrs. CLARK [CLARKE] was the daughter of William and Jane DAVID and was
born in Ohio, Dec. 7, 1835. She was married at Berlin, Wis., June 1, 1855 to Almarion CLARK [CLARKE]. Their home for a time was at Brookfield, N.Y., and later in Wisconsin at Berlin, Albion, and for the past sixteen years at Milton Junction. Here Mr. CLARK [CLARKE] died June 3, 1905. Of the five children born to them two are yet living. Mrs. Mary GARTHWAIT of Stoughton, and Wm. CLARK [CLARKE] of Beloit, both of whom were present at the funeral with their families. The large number of relatives and friends who came to attend the funeral testified of the esteem in which she was held. [Thursday edition, p. 4]

Clara A. BARNHART, the eldest child of Albert and Emily CLARKE
BARNHART, was born April 30, 1862, and died in Milton, March 9, 1908. The mother and the father have been dead some years. Clara is the first to follow them. She is survived by three sisters: Luella, wife of L. L. BOSS, of Rock River, Harriet, wife of Geo. SAUNDERS of Milton, and Florence, wife of Geo. O. SAYRE, living on the homestead one mile and a half southeast of Milton; and by one brother, George BARNHART, living on a farm near Otter Creek. Clara has never been very strong, suffering from childhood with asthma. Three or four years ago a slight abrasion of the skin on one of her fingers resulted in blood poisoning, from which she did not fully recover; finally a valvular disease of the heart gradually completed the destruction of the frail body. Her home for the greater part since the death of her mother has been with the brother. A little more than a year ago she came to the home of her sister, Mrs. SAUNDERS, where she has received every attention which loving hearts could devise and willing, skillful hands could execute. At the age of fifteen years she professed faith in Christ and united with the S.D.B. church in Milton, and has ever since maintained a consistent Christian walk. More than half a year ago attending physicians assured her that there was no possible hope of her recovery, and the wasting malady, slowly sapping her vitality was often most distressing, but no word or murmur of complaint ever escaped her lips. So the love of God graciously sustained her to the end, and gave her the victory.
The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. SAUNDERS on Plumb Street on
Wednesday afternoon, March 11, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Dr. Platts. Beautiful music was furnished by a ladies quartet led by Mrs. J. F. WHITFORD, and the one brother and three brothers-in-law, bore the body to its final resting place in the Milton Cemetery.
The family desire to make grateful mention of the profound sympathy and unfailing
helpfulness of their friends and neighbors through the long months of this trying experience. [Thursday edition, p. 1]
