- The body of Miss Eva May CLARK
[CLARKE] was brought Wednesday after-
- noon, the 2nd inst., from Harvard,
Ill., to Milton and buried in the BURDICK lot of the village
cemetery. The services at the grave were conducted by Pres. Whitford
and four students of the College acted as bearers. The deceased
was taken ill three weeks since with nervous prostration of the
typhoid type and departed this life last Monday, Sept. 30, at
Harvard, Ill., aged 17 years, 4 months and 4 days. Her parents,
Chancey L. and Mary Augusta CLARK [CLARKE], called
into use all possible means available to them to check and overcome
the dread disease. At the burial they were attended by their
son, by Kirk TANNER of Milton Junction, the husband of
Mrs. CLARK's [CLARKE] only sister, by her two uncles,
Dennis and Emery BURDICK of Janesville and by a few citizens
