The Enterprise

Thursday, February 3, 1898

Moody County, South Dakota

Rev. D. C. Arms, M. E. preached the funeral sermon of G[eorge] W[ashington] HUFFMAN
funeral at the S. D. Baptist church Tuesday at 11 AM, who died Sunday, January 30, of bronchial pneumonia. Mr. H. and family came from Milton Junction, Wisconsin where he had spent most of his days, to Dakota and bought a house in Clare Township near Smyth P.O. nearly 4 years ago. He was a soldier in the 38th Wisconsin and a member of A. D. Hamilts [Hamilton] Post GAR #60 in Milton. He was very quiet and unprentending, a worthy citizen and most respected neighbor and a consistent Christian who will be greatly missed from church and society. [p. 1]
