- In Milton, Wis., March 21st, 1866,
Peleg H[arris] LANGWORTHY, in the 70th
- year of his age. He was born in Rhode
Island, embraced the Christian faith in early life, and subsequently
united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Darien, N.Y., but
like too many others neglected to transfer his membership to
any church in this country, D. E. M. [Vol. 22, No. 14, p.
55]
- In Lima, Wis., March 19th, 1866, Mrs.
Phebe STILLMAN [nee GREENE], aged
- 80 years. She was the relict of Luke
STILLMAN, who died while on a visit to Alfred, some eight
years ago. "Aunt Phebe" was born in East Greenwich,
R.I., united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Berlin, N.Y.;
thence moved her standing to the 1st Alfred Church; but on moving
to Wisconsin, neglected to move her church membership. Through
life, her piety has been most exemplary. She was a good mother
in Israel. For several years, she has had little appreciation
of the scenes passing around her. Her soul tarried on earth
after its medium of communication with earthly things had become
almost inoperative. She lays it aside, and waits God's good
time to give her "a house not made with hands, eternal in
the heavens." D. E. M. [Vol. 22, No. 14, p. 55]
