The Sabbath Recorder

June 1888

Rock County, Wisconsin

28
In Edgerton, Wis., June 1888, Mary E., wife of Daniel COON, aged 53 years.
During the past few years she has been a great sufferer from a cancer, which finally caused her death. In her religious life she has maintained a firm Christian character. During all her sufferings she has been very cheerful, and her life became a practical illustration of the power of the grace of God to bear one through the valley and shadow of death, even to the very end. A little less than a year since she became convinced that sprinkling was not baptism, and was immersed by the writer, after which she united with the Seventh day Baptist Church at Albion. She made her preparations to depart with great calmness, and finally when it was clear to her mind that her time was at hand, she left her expressions of thankfulness to her friends for their kindness with a request that they should meet her in heaven. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Edgerton, Sabbath day, June 9th. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." S. L. M. [Vol. 44, No. 26, p. 8]
