The Sabbath Recorder

March 1903

Rock County, Wisconsin

23
In Milton, Wis., Feb. 21, 1903, Mr. Wm. COLE, in the 82d year of his age.
Mr. COLE was born in Devonshire, England. When eleven years of age, he came
to America, stopping for a time on Prince Edward's Island, and then settling in [the] province of Quebec, Canada. There, in the town of Brantford, some years later, he was married to Miss Florella PERRY, a native of Chenango county, N.Y. Fifty years ago he brought his family to the United States, and since 1855 he has been a resident of Milton. His wife died five or six years ago; three daughters and two sons survive them. Mr. COLE was a Sergeant in Co. K, Wisconsin Volunteers, in the Civil War, - a good soldier, a loyal citizen, a kind neighbor. In religious faith, though not a member of the church, he was a Seventh-day Baptist. During his last days his home has been with his daughter, Mrs. H. H. RISDON, under the same roof that first gave him shelter in Milton nearly fifty years ago. L. A. P. [Vol. 59, No. 12, p. 191]
