Charles Allen DAVIS, son of Rev. Darius K. DAVIS, was born October 4, 1865, in
Humboldt, Kan., and passed away in Milton, Wis., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles SAYRE on November 15, 1943.
He was married to Miss Alice NELSON of Flandreau, S.D., on April 17, 1895. They
came immediately to Milton, where they have resided since, except for a short time at Smyth, S.D. Mr. DAVIS was for some time engaged in farming, worked for several years at the BURDICK Company in Milton, then for DAVIS-GREENE Corporation.
To Mr. and Mrs. DAVIS were born three children: Hazel, of Wauwatosa, Wis.; Myrl
of Appleton, Wis.; and Sgt. Charles Allison stationed with the Armed Forces in India.
Mr. DAVIS was a member of the Rock River Seventh Day Baptist Church, until its
disbanding, when he and Mrs. DAVIS joined the church in Milton. He was a deacon of the church and served faithfully. For years it was his task to care for the communion glasses.
He was preceded in death by his wife on February 14, 1943. Beside his children, he
is survived by a brother, William K. DAVIS of Daytona Beach, Fla., and by three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist church November 17,
1943, conducted by Pastor Carroll L. Hill and Rev. Edwin Ben Shaw. Burial was in Milton cemetery. C. L. H. [Vol. 136, No. 2, p. 31]
