Mr. Leo Elmer DAHLKE age 81 of Montello died peacefully Sunday March 13, 2005 at home.
Leo was born on May 15, 1923 in Montello Township the son of Walter and Bertha MATESKE DAHLKE. Leo at an early age entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served until April 19, 1945. Also in 1945 he married Rosalyn RUSSELL in Endeavor until 1967.
On Oct. 24, 1969 he married Bonnie J. KNUTH WILLIAMS in Rockton, IL. Leo was a
lifelong farmer, a crane operator for Janesville Construction, Founding leader of the Operating Engineer Local # 139 in Janesville, a member of V.F.W. of Milton, American Legion Post # 351 of Montello. Leo enjoyed Farming, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and telling stories.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie, 3 daughters Donna (Earl) KJALDGAARD of Evansville,
Ann (AI) RYNOLDS of Janesville, Barbara (Duane) GOLDSMITH of Hayward, 2 sons Richard (Pamela) DAHLKE and Russell (Kathleen) DAHLKE all of Janesville, his first wife Rosalyn DAHLKE of Janesville, l2 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Lynnette) OAKLEY, Amy (Timothy) BUCHOLTZ, Brian (Kristine) KETTLE, Sara DAHLKE, Jamie (Amy) DAHLKE, Rebecca (Francisco) NUNEZ, Melissa DAHLKE, Jessica MOORE, Jennifer (Jeremy MELTON Special Helper and Friend) BEERS, Benjamin RETZLAFF, Brittney GOLDSMITH, Katrina GOLDSMITH, 6 great-grandchildren Brody DAHLKE, Devon KETTLE, Connor BUCHOLTZ, Logan DAHLKE, Hannah OAKLEY, Mailyn MOORE. 4 sisters Adeline (Bob) DEAN of GA, LaVerne (Donald) HAHN of Pardeeville, Arlene KROLL of Oshkosh, Edith (Paul) ROSSMAN of CA, l brother Elton (Mary Ann) DAHLKE of NE. Many other relatives and dear friends. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Dorothy SPAIN, 2 brothers Robert DAHLKE and Arnold DAHLKE.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday March 18, 2005 at the STEINHAUS-WACHHOLZ
FAMILY FUNERAL HONE in Montello with Rev. Clint Rudesill officiating with Military Graveside services at Eastside Cemetery by Post # 351. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the services. A memorial has been established.
