- C[harles] J[ames] BLISS, who
has been sick for some time past, died on Monday
- morning last. His death was the direct
result of the accident which happened to him a few weeks ago,
in which he had three of his fingers cut nearly off in a straw
cutter. The fingers were dressed and sewed on, but inflammation
set in and amputation was found to be necessary, which was done;
but it seems, too late. Blood poisoning set in, which finally
terminated in lock jaw and death, though to within an hour of
his demise he seemed to be improving, and was quite cheerful.
Deceased was well known in this section, having been engaged
in the agricultural equipment business both here and at Edgerton
for a number of years. Funeral services will be held at the
Junction S.D.B. church this (Thursday) morning at 11 o'clock.
